Neville changes title prediction after Arsenal win
Gary Neville had changed his prediction of the Premier League title after just three games of the new season.
The Reds maintained their perfect record with a 3-1 comeback over Arsenal thanks to goals from Sadio Mane, Andrew Robertson and rookie Diogo Jota.
While last season’s runners-up Manchester City were beaten 5-2 by Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.
Those results have caused Neville to change his mind about who will be crowned Premier League champions this season.
He told Sky Sports:
“I chose Manchester City before the start of the season, when they asked us to make our predictions, just because they were going to respond.
“I thought they would do more in the transfer market, but I’m in a position where, with only three games left, I’m going to change my mind.
“It is not for Sunday. Obviously I was at the Etihad on Sunday to watch Leicester beat City 5-2, but I only saw Liverpool, even in that first game against Leeds, where some people realized they were not in their prime, they were careless and you could reach them.
“That was a crazy game, the kind that I’ve gotten myself into and if you come out of those games up top, when you’re not at your best, it shows something.
“They also signed two players after that game and then they went to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea and did the business.
“Then they have Arsenal at home, another team near the top of the league, and they are back in business.”
