The ruling New Patriotic Party (PNP) has joined traditional authorities and other institutions in condemning the protest by the separatist group Homeland Foundation Study Group (HFSG), which began last Friday.

Speaking on the issue at a press conference held in Accra on Monday, September 28, 2020, the party’s general secretary, John Boadu, stated that the incident is shameful and unacceptable in society.

He urged Ghanaians, along with politicians, not to joke about issues that threaten the peace and security of the country.

He stressed that the NPP will not tolerate anything that would hinder the peace that Ghana enjoys.

Boadu called on all political parties to support the government’s efforts to tackle the problem in the Volta region.

The PNP secretary general indicated that the Government will address this issue, which has raised its head once and for all.
