Former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan’s dream of playing in the Asante Kotoko jersey is in jeopardy after the club rejected his colossal transfer demands.
Gyan is currently a free agent after leaving NorthEast United FC of the Indian Super League in January.
The 34-year-old has been linked to a move to childhood club Asante Kotoko ahead of the 2020/21 season.
But the move is reported to have had a downside after the former Sunderland forward demanded that they give him 400,000 as a subscription fee before putting pen to paper.
Reports from Kumasi-based FOX FM suggest that the Porcupine Warriors do not want to proceed with the transfer as they consider the player’s demand to be outlandish.
Asante Kotoko is eager to increase his attacking front ahead of the start of the Ghana Premier League and the CAF Champions League campaign.
Gyan is Ghana’s all-time top scorer with 51 goals in 109 international matches.
