We all know the health risks of smoking, but that doesn’t make it easier to kick the habit. Whether you are an occasional teen smoker or a lifelong smoker, quitting can be really difficult.

Contrary to what has long been propagated in people’s minds, The People’s Project (TPP) founder and leader Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has revealed that one cannot quit smoking by eliminating to your friends.

In an event log on Facebook, A Plus revealed that he was once a heavy smoker and stayed in the act for twenty (20) years until he was able to master it.

The trick, according to Kwame, was how he spoke to his inner self about his decision to quit smoking and also keeping the same friends he committed the act with.

Ready to quit smoking? These tips from Kwame A Plus will help you kick the habit for good.

Read his full post below:I was a heavy smoker. On a very good day, I smoked a pack or more. I started smoking in 1994 and didn’t quit until 2014, twenty years in a row.

One day, I decided to quit. I bought a new pack of cigarettes and threw my own cigarette going-away party that morning. I treated myself to about five king-size cigarette bars. Afterwards, I put the package on my nightstand and said to myself: “Enough, I need a break !!” Then I sat in front of my mirror and said to myself: If you are truly the owner of your soul, although you will see this cigarette when you wake up and before going to bed, and you will be tempted to smoke it. don’t touch it for a year. And yes, I did.

From June 16, 2014 to June 16, 2015, I did not smoke. But you see, when you win the champions league, you want to win it consecutively. Therefore, I decided to challenge myself for one more year. And once again, I was successful. For two years in a row, I had a pack of cigarettes on my nightstand, kept the same friends that I used to smoke with, went to the same places where I used to smoke but didn’t smoke a stick. At that point, after two years of not smoking, my system had naturally rejected it and I was unable to smoke again. I took the cigarette out of my room and threw it away. At last, the battle was over.

It’s been six years since I quit smoking and I want to give a huge thank you to the man in me for being strong.

You may be struggling to quit smoking. There is a man or a woman in you who wants to help, but it has to start with you. The truth is that it is not easy at all. Your willpower must be on another level in order to quit smoking. You have to be in full control of yourself. Based on my experience, I can offer some tips to help you, that is, if you are struggling to quit smoking;

1. Don’t stay away from friends you used to smoke with because you want to quit. It is not the company that maintains. It’s about being the owner of your soul. Be tempted, resist the temptation. Anyone who can resist the urge to smoke is a hero. Is not easy.

2. Don’t quit smoking because you don’t have a cigarette. Stick to one. It can be in your pocket, in your car, or in your room. Just make the DECISION not to smoke. If the reason you don’t smoke is because you don’t have access to a cigarette, the day you have access to it, you will smoke like crazy and then chew the box.

3. Do not substitute for electronic cigarettes. Just alone!!!

4. Set goals. have a deep conversation with yourself and make the DECISION to quit smoking. Sit with your friends, watch them smoke. If you can resist the urge to smoke, go home and mark “day 1”. If you don’t come in contact with smokers and were otherwise not tempted, don’t count. Do this for 30 days and you will feel like a winner.

It’s not about what someone said about smoking. It is not because your doctor said something. It’s about you being in charge of yourself. As author Germany Kent says, you can’t live the same day over and over again and call that a life. Life is about evolving mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.

My new challenge is to get the six packages that I am testing. So help me to Aburi Mountain.
