Solskjaer praises two players
Rashford and Fernandes received praise, although Solskajer was not entirely happy, speaking to MUTV:
“At this point in the season, it is vital for us to score three points. It’s been a long time since we won a match towards the end, maybe from PSG. Last season we had so many draws, 12 or something like that. We don’t win late in games like we used to at this club. It’s part of the history of this club, very, very happy with that.
“They have dug, worked hard. We know we’re not in shape yet and you can see they were fitter than us, but they’re actually one of the fastest running teams in the league so we knew it would be a physically tough match. We haven’t arrived yet.
“We’re going to get there. The reaction to both goals was brilliant. We didn’t play before the first goal and the reaction to the last one was great.
“Very strong mentally, that’s a big part of being a penalty taker. Goalkeepers and penalty shooters must stay focused and mentally strong.
“Bruno has one of the strongest mentalities I have come across.
“I am very happy that Marcus scored that goal. He was just an inch offside on a counter from Mason’s cross. We saw some moments that we didn’t see last week, so we are improving a bit. So sometimes you have to admit that you got away with it. We didn’t deserve more than one point.
“We need to better stop the crossings, we need to put the blocks better in the area. Crossbar a couple of times, although I think David had the majority in control. Better finishing off of them and they could get three points. “
