President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-AddoPresident of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stated that all the projects he has mowed the lawn for, since taking over the country’s highest office in January 2017, have been properly funded.

President Akufo-Addo announced it on Friday, September 25, 2020, in Enchi, on day 2 of his 3-day tour of the North West Region, when he cut the grass for the construction of the 71.25 highway kilometers from Enchi to Elubo. which is going to cost the taxpayer $ 116.2 million.

According to President Akufo-Addo, “When I came here a year ago, I assured the chiefs and the people that I will work hard to ensure that the road from Enchi to Elubo begins. There were a number of processes, such as the contractor and funding sources, that needed to be completed before today’s ceremony could take place. All these processes have been completed successfully “

He continued: “I am not like some people who rush to cut sod without obtaining the necessary funds for the projects. I will never do that. When I cut the grass, it means that all processes are completed and the money for the project is available. I don’t mean to fool anyone. “

Addressing the meeting, President Akufo-Addo told the meeting that one of the most important things to him in public life is for the people of Ghana to know that he is a man of his word and that he will not lie to them.

“When I ran for president in 2016, my opponents went around the country saying that everything I said I was going to do was a lie. They said I couldn’t do Free SHS because it would take 20 years to implement. Haven’t I done it? he asked, to which the crowd enthusiastically replied “yes”.

He assured Enchi chiefs and people that “we have secured funds for this road (from Enchi to Elubo) and a first-class contractor will work on this road. The contractor has assured me that on October 21, 2023 I will return here to start up the road ”.

Referring to the creation of the North Western Region, the President told the audience that the equitable distribution of development and resources was one of the reasons for the creation of the region.

So far, he indicated that the Government has made the decision to locate offices of the Departments and Agencies in all parts of the region.

The president added that construction is underway for the Regional Directorate of Education in Bibiani, the Regional Directorate of Agriculture in Juaboso, the Regional Food Roads in Aowin and the Regional Highways Department also in Sefwi Wiawso, the capital of the Region.

President Akufo-Addo, therefore, called on the people of Aowin to vote en masse for him and the PNP parliamentary candidate “so that we can do more for you.”
