Ghanaian forward Kwabena Owusu scored with Qarabağ FK on Friday to help the team win a 2-2 draw against Sumqayıt FK at Kapital Bank Arena of the Azerbaijan Premier League.
The former striker from Cordoba joined the Azerbaijani team earlier this year and has established himself as a key man in the team.
Earlier today, he was awarded a starting spot for Qarabağ FK when the team faced Sumqayıt FK on Matchday 4 of the current 2020/2021 Azerbaijan Premier League season.
The two teams appeared even in the first half and went to the break scoreless.
After a good start to the second half, Ali Ghorbani found the back of the net in the 52nd minute to shoot Sumqayıt FK into the lead.
Two minutes later, the home team doubled their lead with a shot from Dzhamaldin Khodzhaniyazov that found the back of the Qarabağ FK net.
Heading to defeat, a draw by Kwabena Owusu just before the scheduled time started a comeback for the visitors.
Fortunately, his efforts in the final 30 minutes of the match paid off in added time as Filip Ozobić scored a crucial second goal to ensure Qarabağ FK drew 2-2 on the road.
This season, Kwabena Owusu has appeared in his team’s 4 league matches and already has 2 goals to his name.
