The Asafohene for the Mponuahene of the Awutu Traditional Council has died, while three others are in critical condition after a group of land guards broke into their community.

The thugs, about ten, opened fire on the victims in a field in Awutu Kwao Bondze near Kasoa in the Central Region.

According to sources, the attack occurred when Asafohene and his team went to the site to pay the workers who are building a fence wall.

In an interview with Kofi Adjei of Adom News, one of the workers, Yaw Boabeng said, they were awaiting payment when they saw ground guards firing at Asafohene and his team.

According to him, this happened about 20 meters from the place.

In recounting their ordeal, some of the victims said they will be able to identify the leader of the thugs and the men who shot them.

The problem of land guards terrorizing people has become rampant, with many residents being forced to flee their homes.

Speaking about development, the Awutu Mponuahene Traditional Council, Nai Kwabena Atopi I, whose men have been shot and killed, called on the IGP to intervene.

He told Adom News that this is not the first time his people have been attacked by thugs.
