He said the next NDC government would promote the development of industrial parks for garage owners and workers when elected on December 7, 2020.

A statement signed by NDC campaign spokesman James Agyenim-Boateng said Mahama made the promise while addressing artisans and garage owners at Tuobodom in the Techiman North constituency last Saturday as part of his three-way tour. days through the Bono East region.

Diagnostic centers

Mahama said fully equipped industrial parks with diagnostic centers and other modern vehicle maintenance facilities would be developed to train workshop operators in car maintenance with new and improved technology.

He said that given the rapid deployment of new technologies in vehicles, Mahama said it was imperative that workshop owners and workers receive the necessary training to be relevant to their industry and keep them on the job.

“So, we are going to collaborate with the Eureka Workshop Association, the Suame Magazine Industrial Development Organization in Kumasi and all the other workshop associations in the country to build the training centers with the modern diagnostic machine to train their members. and be able to stay in business. ”Mr. Mahama cited as saying.

Master craftsmen

Mr. Mahama indicated that the government would hire master craftsmen such as bricklayers, carpenters, fashion designers, hairdressers and seamstresses, among others, and would pay the apprenticeship fees of all those who were willing to train with them in the various vocations.

“Those who complete the government-sponsored apprenticeship training,” Mahama said, “will receive the necessary tools so that they can also create their own businesses.”
