The NDC “Peoples Manifesto” continues to advance Ghana’s daily political discussion as the party’s Communication Department continues to highlight what the next John Mahama administration plans to implement for the people of Ghana.

In its latest statement on Tuesday, September 22, the National Communication Office talks about the 10 conclusions for health professionals if John Mahama wins the December 2020 elections.

1. Implement tax exemptions to help health workers acquire means of transportation (vehicles) to respond to emergency calls.

2. Establish a housing plan for healthcare personnel and provide residential facilities in all healthcare facilities for healthcare personnel.

3. Review and expand the definition of frontline workers and harmonize disparities in wages and working conditions for health workers.

4. Amend the National Pension Law, to allow health professionals who have contributed to SSNIT for 10 years or more, to guarantee their contributions for mortgage loans.

5. Employ the accumulation of work of all unemployed skilled health professionals.

6. Support health professionals with insurance to protect them from the unintended consequences of their practice.

7. Support bilateral and other exchange programs for our healthcare personnel to expose them to best practices around the world, while supporting the pursuit of professional development by healthcare workers.

8. Establish a Professor Jacob Plange-Rhule Endowment Fund for the training of medical and surgical specialists.

9. Expand the training of medical assistants and emergency physicians, as well as create more jobs for community nurses and other health professionals through the implementation of free primary health care.

10. Institute a National Health Workers Day and establish a reward scheme for deserving individual workers and the best facilities (including those in the private sector).
