Dancehall artist Shatta Wale has been featured in a Creative Arts textbook for class four students and published by the Alpha and Omega series.
Shatta Wale’s page comes with a diluted biography of the artist and some of the works he has published over time.
In the book, the students were tasked with, in groups or pairs, discussing who he is and then dancing and singing one of his popular songs.
The ‘Melissa’ hitmaker’s appearance in the textbook responds to the need for students to learn about performing artists as outlined in the curriculum.
Students must study artists whose work reflects current affairs in Ghana, reflects the history and culture of the people in Ghana, among others.
Students, according to the syllabus, should be tasked with gathering information about the artists, examining their compositions and works, and generating ideas from the works of art of some artists they discover.
