It’s like you’re in the top five of this week’s MLS Power Rankings, with Columbus winning for the third time in his last four contests to maintain his place at the top of the heap. At the other end of the order, another beating has San José staring at the rest of the league.

1. Columbus Crew

Defense in transition has been a problem for LAFC all season. Now they are just handing away goals to the opposition, conceding two penalties in a 3-0 loss to Seattle. The Red Bulls were eliminated for the third time in four games in their 1-0 home loss to Cincinnati. Only DC, Cincinnati and Chicago have worse goal differential in the Eastern Conference.
