The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council has made the decision to donate its monthly allowance for the month of September 2020 to the victims of the Offinso accident.
All members of the Council decided collectively on Monday, September 21, 2020 to support the victims.
This follows an accident on Saturday, involving some 34 young footballers from Africa Vision Soccer Academy who claimed the lives of seven footballers when the minibus they were traveling in sank in the Ofinso River.
Sadly, six of the young footballers were killed on the spot, while one who was in critical condition died at Komfo Anokye University Hospital in Kumasi on Sunday.
Ten of the victims were treated at St. Patrick Hospital and have been discharged.
On Sunday September 20, 2020, the GFA sent a delegation led by Executive Council member Frederick Acheampong and Ashanti Regional Football Association President Osei Tutu Agyemang to Offinso to commiserate with the families of the victims and visit injured players.
