Liverpool’s stance on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain transfer amid Anfield outbound links

Liverpool have insisted they have no intention of selling Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer.

The wolves have been linked to the 27-year-old midfielder following the arrival of Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich to Anfield.

But Oxlade-Chamberlain is very happy in Liverpool.

He has three years left on his current contract and the club will not let him go and reject any approach as they see him as an important figure in the squad.

Oxlade-Chamberlain played in key matches last season in his title success and also in the Champions League, underscoring Jurgen Klopp’s faith in the England star.

But Oxlade-Chamberlain is vital to the Reds for his goals from midfield.

Oxlade-Chamberlain scored eight times for the Reds last season

He was Liverpool’s top scoring midfielder with eight in all competitions last season, which makes him different from other midfield options and why he remains an integral part of Klopp’s squad.

Oxlade-Chamberlain made 30 Premier League appearances last season and that goes to show that he was an important cog in the title-winning machine.

Ox still has an important role to play at Anfield

Liverpool had originally indicated that they might have to sell a midfielder to close the deal with Thiago, but Barcelona have been struggling to raise the money to make an offer for Georginio Wijnaldum.

Now Liverpool also bought Diogo Jota from the Wolves to reinforce their squad for the season.

Jota came in from the Wolves for £ 41m with Dutch defender Ki-Jana Hoever in the opposite direction and Molineux boss Nuno still looking to strengthen his team this summer after also losing Matt Doherty.

But Liverpool will not sell Oxlade-Chamberlain and will make it clear to anyone that it is not for sale and is an important part of the setup.
