John Dramani Mahama, standard-bearer for the opposition Democratic National Congress (NDC), has pleaded with Nananom to warn the president and the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) of possible electoral violence.

According to him, the NDC is known in Ghanaian political history as a peaceful party, and there is no way that violence was associated with the party.

Mahama, speaking to the chiefs and people of the Bono region during his campaign tour, stated: “The NDC is known to be peaceful. You will not see the NDC engaging in violent activities, but [our] Opponents are known to be violent. Look what they did during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-elections. The president ignored the Emile Short Commission [….] recommendation about the person who participated in the act. They still carry the weapons that were used in the NDC.

“The saddest aspect of all this is that the leadership of the PNP [is] threatening to do more in the December 7 election. Nana, it’s okay to warn all of your children, but it’s about time you made it clear to the ruling party that they are violent and we are warning you against such activities. U.S [NDC] it will not bring problems, “he added.

Mahama, the immediate past president, stated that it is God who appoints the kings and if God has appointed you as king, you will definitely get it no matter what and if he [God] He has not made you king, whatever you do, you will definitely not become king.

He then promised the chiefs and the people: “The NDC will not participate in any violent activity; We do not have weapons, we have not trained any group of vigilantes to work for the party because we know that Ghanaians will be very vigilant in the elections ”.
