The news has changed the entire mood of soccer in the country with the GFA president coming out to cry with the family of the dead and encouraging everyone to support them.

In a post on his official Facebook account, he wrote:

“I have received with great regret the death of 8 youth players (African Vision FC) today in Offinso in the Ashanti region.

“In these difficult times, we stand shoulder to shoulder with all grieving families, the injured and those experiencing psychological stress … Okay … Let’s all show solidarity,” he said.

The club, Africa Vision Soccer Academy had come to Afrancho near Kumasi to register for the District Youth League and we are returning to Offinso.

The car carrying the players and some officials blew a front tire off the Offin Bridge and veered into the Offin River causing brutal deaths.
