Three people have suffered fatal injuries following an accident in Odumase on the Accra-Kumasi highway.
The incident happened around 10:40 a.m. Saturday, witnesses told Dailymailgh.com.
The three included a pastor from the Ghana Presbyterian Church, a woman in her 40s and another man in her 20s, doctors from Konongo Government Hospital told dailymailgh.com.
At least four vehicles were involved in the accident; a Metro Mass Transit bus, a mini cargo truck, a Toyota Stanbic, and a Toyota Scion minibus.
Police said an abrupt stop of one of the vehicles in the middle of the road caused the rear collision between the four vehicles in their lanes.
“According to eyewitnesses, the Scion bus suddenly saw a motorcycle in the middle of the road, so it stopped to let the motorcycle pave the way,” the commander of the Traffic and Transportation Unit of the Scion told Dailymailgh.com. Konongo Police.
“Fortunately, four of them were injured and were rushed to hospital. There was a lot of traffic on the road but with the presence of the police we were able to tow the vehicle from the road, “he added.
The three victims were being processed for transfer to the Koforidua Government Hospital at the time of this report.
Other passengers who sustained minor injuries were treated and released, doctors told Dailymailgh.com.
