Organized Labor has expressed reservations about some recent hires and promotions by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
A statement jointly signed by the GRA Workers Union and GRA PSWU questioned the criteria used in promoting Chief Revenue Officers (CRO) and Assistant Commissioners (AC)
“Unfortunately, the majority of these newly hired officers were juniors / officer colleagues who are currently in SRO grades.
“Over the years, management has used the lack of vacancy clauses to deprive qualified officers and workers of CRO and AC positions, but less experienced / qualified ‘outsiders’ could be employed to fill such positions. enviable, ”the statement said.
He added: “In this sense, organized work requires seeing the criteria and requirements used to employ and classify these new CROs and ACs.
“Until such transparency is granted to Organized Work, we cannot guarantee the cooperation and support of the staff to these new appointments by management.
“This discretionary precedence has the potential to derail, plan for succession, demoralize staff, and most importantly, ‘open doors’ for successive managements to continue to use this occurrence.”
