The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Creative Arts (CACCI), an upcoming chamber in the creative industry, has expressed concern about the promises of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in their 2020 manifestos, which seek address industry challenges.

“We applaud both parties’ well thought out vision for the industry, but we want to quickly say that unfortunately, the manifesto promises are not the immediate solution to challenges and are like putting the cart before the horse,” he said.

A statement signed by the CACCI Founder, Mr. Philip Amanor, and copied to the Ghana News Agency said: “The next chamber is prepared to coordinate and streamline the concerns and interests of the industry and to bring the players together under the same umbrella for its growth. “

He said, in this sense, that the chamber believes that “the first thing has to do with the regulations and structures of the industry to make it more vibrant, to instill discipline and be seen as a serious entity in the scheme of affairs. “

The statement said that the Creative Arts name should be retained to put an end to the fads that existed in the industry “because players create arts in film, music, fine arts, crafts and culture, among others.”

He called for the creation of a Creative Arts and Tourism Bank run by independent professionals and experienced investment bankers to address the long-term financial needs of players.

The statement said that the industry has been at the mercy of politicians, so its direction and vision change every time there is a change in political power or government.

“For this reason, CACCI is engaging stakeholders to draw up a roadmap for a national development plan that guides the direction and vision of the industry for the betterment of players,” he said.

The statement said that as a precondition, political parties must help launch a well-structured creative industry for its lofty promises to materialize, adding that the chamber with its gifted human resources would help ensure the manifestation of good ideals.
