The standard bearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has assured the chiefs and people of Yeji that he will treat as a priority and complete an abandoned landing beach project that he started, if he wins the 2020 election.
That, he said, would facilitate the movement of goods and services.
The former president also promises to restructure fuel premix committees for various landing beaches across the country to give fishermen control and block diversions.
Addressing a mini durbar in Yeji in the Pru East constituency, on the second day of his tour of the Bono East region, the NDC leader expressed concern about the current premix distribution system that denied access to direct beneficiaries of the subsidized product.
The former president said that the 2020 NDC Manifesto, which had the direct participation of ordinary Ghanaians, represented a project that would directly address their priority needs.
He made reference to skills training programs, free TVET, the commitment to repeal the law prohibiting the importation of accidental vehicles, the elimination of import tariffs on commercial vehicles and agricultural equipment, the One Million Jobs plan, a Big Push investment of $ 10 billion and the establishment of the Agricultural Mechanization Centers to promote production, food processing, commercialization, among others, as great initiatives aimed at improving the lives of all.
Responding to other people’s needs, Mr. Mahama promised them a new market in Yeji and the completion of a hospital project started by the NDC administration.
