The candidate for vice president of the Democratic National Congress (NDC), Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has finished her five-day tour of the Western Region.
He ended the tour by reassuring the people of the region that the NDC offers the best quality and reliable governance option that will lead to sustainable development for all Ghanaians.
The visit, the first to the region since she was surpassed as a running mate of former President John Dramani Mahama, allowed Professor Opoku-Agyemang to introduce herself to the chiefs and the people and request their support for the NDC at the next general meeting. elections.
During the tour, Professor Opoku-Agyemang paid courtesy visits to various traditional leaders, interacted with a number of stakeholders, including traders, artisans, small-scale miners, farmers, students, fishermen, and professional groups, among others.
The Running Mate, which arrived in the region on Sunday with an enthusiastic welcome, expressed its thanks to the chiefs and the people for their warm welcome.
She ensured that all infrastructure projects that were started by the previous NDC administration, but were abandoned by the current government, would be completed when the NDC came to power.
He explained the provisions of the NDC manifesto for national progress and indicated that the socio-economic needs of the region have been adequately addressed in the manifesto.
On education, he pledged that the next NDC government will ensure greater access to quality learning, introduce more incentive packages for teachers, and restore discipline in schools.
Professor Opoku-Agyemang, who recently toured six other regions, namely the Upper East, the Northeast, the North, Bono, Ahafo and the North West Region, stressed that a government led by Mahama will commit to promoting equity in governance.
