Former Ghanaian President John Agyekum Kufour has advised young people not to join politics with the intention of making a quick buck.

According to him, every individual who joins politics must prepare very well before embarking on the journey because they will be disgraced if they believe that politics will make them a quick buck.

Mr. Kufour made this comment when he was interacting with students under the Kufour Scholars program.

For him, he was born into a privileged family so he did not join politics to make wealth for himself but to improve the life of the Ghanaian.

“I knew that to be a politician of any scope, you have to prepare well not to compromise yourself by taking bribes and things like that. If you want to do the right things in politics, you don’t need to corrupt yourself, “he said.

“You do your job well, but always knowing how to live within your limits and if you know that you want to pursue that knowing that you do not come from the bottom with resources, then I tell you please do not go there as a way to enrich yourself, prepare before enter so that the time comes to enter, have your home, have your vehicle and can take your child to a good school. ”

“If you do not prepare and rush to say that this is the way to earn money, sooner or later you will be tempted and misfortune will come,” concluded the former president.
