Democratic National Congress (NDC) standard-bearer John Dramani Mahama says the Akufo-Addo government is eagerly seeking to save face by rushing to implement the laudable and far-reaching policy proposals in the NDC manifesto.

Speaking at a People’s Manifesto town hall meeting in Kumasi, Mahama said that the NDC’s manifesto is the product of its extensive consultation with Ghanaians from all walks of life, a process mocked by the ruling New Patriotic Party ( NPP).

“Today, after making fun of the NDC going to the people because we didn’t know what to offer Ghanaians, now they are planning and implementing our proposals and promises, which is what the Ghanaian people want.”

Former President Mahama said the NDC approach was well conceived and explains the manifesto’s promises which have been well received and supported by many Ghanaians.

“It was important that we go to the people we will serve because they are the ones who would give us the power … to tell us what they wanted us to do for them.”

According to President Mahama, the NPP and Akufo-Addo, after criticizing many of their policy proposals, including the cancellation of the teachers’ licensure examinations, the legalization and regulation of Okada, the payments to bank depositors and the reduction of the CST rate, they have turned around after realizing how popular it is. the promises of the NDC manifesto are to start implementing them.

A unique feature of the Kumasi Townhall engagement was that all the speakers made their presentations on Twi.

President Mahama announced that the City Council meeting will be repeated in other regions. He called on Ghanaians to reject the PNP administration and adopt the clearly superior policies of the NDC, which emanated from the Ghanaians themselves and would be implemented for their benefit once the people elect the NDC in December 2020.

The audience included teachers, parts dealers, contractors, doctors, bosses, okada and tricycle drivers, and numerous party supporters.
