Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia says that the successful implementation of its policies and projects by the ruling New Patriotic Party, which the NDC vehemently opposed, has exposed the opposition party’s inconsistencies.

Speaking in Takoradi on Monday when he mowed the lawn for the construction of the first interchange in the Western Region, Dr. Bawumia mocked the NDC for consistently opposing the progressive policies and initiatives of the NPP and then turning around to say they will. best. , citing as examples Free SHS, Zipline, and the Synohrdro infrastructure agreement.

He said that the NPP government negotiated a $ 2 billion bauxite-for-development deal with Synohydro, but the NDC organized vehement protests against the deal, including writing to the IMF to raise its red flag against the deal. Under the agreement, Sinohydro Group Limited of China is providing the infrastructure chosen by the government in exchange for the equivalent of Ghana’s refined bauxite.

Under the Synohydro agreement, each of Ghana’s 16 regions is benefiting from infrastructure projects including hospital projects, extension of electricity to rural communities, construction of roads and interchanges, including the Takoradi interchange, which Vice President Bawumia cut off on Monday. .

Speaking at the mowing ceremony for the construction of the Synohydro-funded exchange in Takoradi on Monday, Vice President Bawumia recalled how the NDC opposed the Synohydro deal and how they launched scathing attacks on the government.

“This is a game-changing deal that provides much needed infrastructure for the people of Ghana in all regions, but the NDC said no. They opposed, attacked us and even reported us to the IMF, but the IMF made them I said no, “Dr. Bawumia said.

“How can you do that when you have the nation at your heart? Even developing the people of Ghana through Synohydro, the NDC opposed.”

In addition to the development projects at the rural level, Dr. Bawumia also listed the main projects in Phase 1 of the Synohydro agreement, which he said has exposed the sincerity of the NDC.

“The construction of the PTC link is part of Phase 1 of Sino Hydro’s projects, including Accra Inner City Roads, Kumasi Inner City Roads, Tamale Interchange Project, Adenta-Dodowa Expressway , Sunyani city center roads, Cape Coast Urban Roads “.

“Others are the improvement of selected secondary roads in Ashanti and the western regions, the rehabilitation of Akim Oda-Ofoase-New Abirem Roads and Hohoe-Jasikan-Dodo Pepesu Road, and many others.”

“All of these development projects for our people have exposed the NDC, their sincerity.”

The vice president also mocked the NDC for what he described as their trademark by opposing every good initiative from the government, and then when it becomes a success, they will tell Ghanaians that they can do better.

“The NDC has a trademark opposing everything. Any good initiative that we undertake, opposing it,” said Dr. Bawumia.

“First they say it’s impossible and then when we do it, they say they can do better,” he added.

“They opposed Synohydro, but we are giving infrastructure to the people of Ghana through that. They opposed Free SHS and said it was impossible. But we have implemented it successfully and now they say they can do better.”

“A constituency was opposed to an ambulance but each constituency has an ambulance; a village was opposed to a dam, but farmers and chiefs in the north are praising the government; a district was opposed by a factory but we are building the factories. and now they say they can do better. “

They even opposed the Zipline medical drone service and told people that we would use the drones to take pictures of them in their bathrooms, but we have all seen the impact of the Zipline drone on delivering emergency medical services to remote parts of the country. . “

“Even when we said our children should go back to school and prepare for their WASCEE and BECE exams, they objected and said we wanted the children to die. But by the grace of God, SHS students have completed and our children are writing. your SCHOLARSHIP “.

“That’s their trademark, all the good stuff, they oppose. And then they’ll turn around and want to be a part of it.”
