More than 120 executives and members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Mpraeso electoral district of the Eastern Region defected over the weekend and joined the ruling New Patriotic Party (PNP).

Their decision followed what they described as “an unprecedented development in the Mpraeso constituency and the country by the Akufo-Addo-led government.”

The group said the successes of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s “excellent and competent leadership” had informed its decision to join the PNP.

They said that policies and programs such as Free Senior High School, Nation Builders’ Corps (NABCO), Planting for Foods and Jobs, among others, have had a tremendous impact on their lives and that of their families, saying “through a policy like Free SHS our younger siblings have been able to access education in prestigious schools ”.

Furthermore, they noted that the government’s flagship programs have brought great relief to the people of this country and members of the constituency.

Infrastructure development

The group, led by Isaac Awuah Mensah, a former NDC communications officer and Assembly Member for the Atibie Electoral Area, said the government has also provided infrastructure projects in the constituency, including the improvement and remodeling of the Government Hospital. from Kwahu, Atibie.

They congratulated the government on the construction of the road to Fodoa, Besease, Praso no. 1, Praso 2, through Mframa to Dwerebease; water system powered by a solar panel at Bepong Clinic and Kwasi Fori, in Mpraeso; and the city roads of Asakraka, Obo, Mpraeso and Obomeng.

“We strongly believe that what this administration has accomplished in its first term deserves praise and support. This is the reason why we have decided to join the PNP so that His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Extraordinary President, continue with his good works, ”said Mr. Awuah Mensah.

He assured NPP parliamentary candidate Davis Opoku Ansah (also known as OPK) and NPP constituency executives that they would work hard to support the party and win 95 percent of the vote in the December 7, 2020 election. .
