Legendary Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has revealed how he was reportedly threatened after the new movie is released titled “Fatal Arrogance.”
The film was said to ridicule the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN).

The 73-year-old actor told Sahara Reporters on Monday that YouTube videos and messages were circulating on WhatsApp to get ahead of the project.
In his words:
“I was part of a movie that was made a few days ago. Two days after we finished filming that movie, I received calls from people across the country referring me to WhatsApp.
“I checked and saw that the IMN, as I read, had notified the Inspector General of Police (IGP) that Pete Edochie and the Nigerian government, with some actors from the north, had made a production that was intended to ridicule and misrepresent them.
“One claimed that the government gave Pete Edochie money to exonerate them for what they did in Zaria years ago. It moves me to comment on this … I don’t understand what IMN is addressing.
“If they have complained to the Inspector General of Police, and the IGP says to give them a copy of the film, what are we going to do because the film doesn’t exist yet? It is not in circulation.
“I was supposed to play a role that ridiculed his boss, the boss, whoever is in charge of his group. I suggest you wait, keep the powder dry, when the film is released.
“Now you can make your complaints known to the IGP. Whatever is being done now is premature, it is not appropriate. Fatal arrogance, whatever it is, the best thing is to wait for it to come out. “

According to Police Chief Mohammed Adamu, the upcoming film imitated the group incorrectly. However, Pete directed all complaints to the film’s producers.
My name in the movie is Alhaji Shasha Kurungu. I don’t know that there is a leader of any religious sect in Nigeria who responds to that. If there is, it is pure coincidence; the name is fictitious, “he added.
“If you want to express resentment for a production that you have not seen, direct your complaints to the producer of the film, not to Pete Edochie, who is a mere actor, it does not concern me.
“I didn’t write it, the movie was produced by Kingsley Orji Anosike. I thank all those people who informed me of the campaign, the denigration and the organized threat of me by the IMN.
“I thank you all. I am a free born Nigerian, I was born and raised in Nigeria. I’m not going to flee this country because some people think they want things to be done their way. “
