Musician and politician Kwame Asare Obeng, also known as A-Plus, has revealed that he lost a ¢ 3 million bulk oil and storage transportation contract (BOST) after criticizing the Akufo-Addo government.
The controversial singer said that he campaigned for the New Patriotic Party (PNP) because he needed a change in governance and for the country to be better, however, he regrets it.
He explained to George Quaye on Joy FM’s Showbiz AZ on Saturday that he is disappointed that the change he was looking for never happened.
“We wanted a change, we believed everything that was said, we believed that it was not right for John Mahama to lead a government of family and friends. We believed that it was not correct that John Mahama had 87 ministers.
“There were too many and now we come and we have more than that. We live in a country where NPP and NDC are the same and it is the fact even if they don’t want to listen ”, he emphasized.
According to him, the constitution charges the government to provide an enabling environment for citizens.
“It is in the constitution that the government must make me happy and give me a job. So if he comes to power, he must give me a job, I must be employed. “
Last month, he told Joy News that there are too many criminals around President Akufo-Addo, making it difficult to fight corruption.
This, he believes, will affect the president’s legacy by nipping the canker in the bud.
“There are too many criminals around the president. Too many people want to use their government for their personal interests and that will affect their legacy.
“This is someone we have been with and helping the president protect the public purse by fighting corruption. Some people around him have decided to fight us; very bad, “he said.
He regretted the attacks that were unleashed on him by pointing out the evils of the current administration.
