Arsenal have big ambitions for the season that striker Alexandre Lacazette has said after their 3-0 opening-day win against Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday.

“It was the best way to start the season,” Lacazette, who joined the scoreboard alongside new signing Gabriel and captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, told the BBC.

“[Manager Mikel Arteta] wants us to be perfect. We have many great ambitions. I want to help the team to be on top and I know it is my job. “

Sources told ESPN on Friday that Lacazette was to seek clarification on his position at Arsenal amid speculation that he would leave the club in a £ 40 million deal.

“I am very happy at Arsenal,” said the French international.

Arteta said the situation regarding the club captain Aubameyang, who has yet to extend his contract which expires next year, will likely clear up soon and highlighted the performances of several players at Craven Cottage.
