The MTN Ghana Foundation has donated 3,000 KN95 face masks to the Greater Accra Regional Hospital [Ridge hospital].

This is part of their campaign to encourage the use of face masks online with their recently launched “Use it for me” and BE WISE campaigns.

The Foundation has also donated 88,000 masks to health workers in 30 hospitals in the 16 regions of the country.

MTN Ghana Corporate Services Executive Mr Samuel Koranteng said they are committed to helping the government win the fight against COVID-19.

Based on this backdrop, he said that MTN has not only invested in EPP worth GH ₵ 5 million, but has also invested in behavior change programs.

At MTN, Mr. Koranteng said that “we believe we have an important role to play in the fight against COVID-19 from the beginning and this remains paramount to us.”

“We continue to encourage all Ghanaians to strictly adhere to all security protocols issued by local and global authorities in the fight against this pandemic. We wish them the best and congratulate them all once again for their hard work and commitment, ”he added.

Upon receiving the articles, the Medical Director of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Dr. Emmanuel K. Srofenyoh thanked MTN for the gesture.

He indicated that the KN95 mask, which until now was in short supply, will help front-line health workers to fulfill their duties effectively.

“This donation will save us costs, so we are really grateful to the MTN foundation for this gesture,” added the Medical Director.

Dr. Srofenyoh appealed to the public to continue using the mask to cancel the wave of active cases.
