Hearts of Oak coach Edward Nii Odoom has confidence in teenage forward Franklyn Owusu and has made him a major player.
Owusu has been promoted from the youth team to the Phobians’ first team before the new season.
His promotion came a few weeks after being called up for the debuting national team, as he has been included in the U-20 team.
Odoom, who is also the coach of the Hearts youth team, popularly known as Auroras, has spoken highly of the player.
“We will continue working on him now that he is with the first team, and I am very confident that in the future he will become an important player for the club,” said the coach as quoted by the club’s website.
Owusu hails from Ejisu in the Ashanti region of Ghana and began his football career with Koto Stars, a youth team in Sefwi, in the north west of the country.
He attended Ejisu High School, where he played for the school team and idolizes Ghana’s all-time international top scorer, Asamoah Gyan.
