Nana Addo begins construction of the Emergency and Accident Center

President Akufo-Addo held a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday to begin work on the construction of an Accident and Emergency Center at Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital.

The project is part of the government’s program to expand and improve health facilities in the country for which it has secured a € 140 million facility.

President Akufo-Addo said the contract had already been awarded to Engineering Development Cooperation, an Israeli construction company, and that it would begin major works on the construction of ultra-modern hospitals in parts of the country.

The beneficiary areas are Greater Accra, Tema and Nkoranza in the East Bono Region. The central theme medical stores would also be renovated and expanded.

Speaking on the occasion in Dormaa-Ahenkro in the central Dormaa municipality, President Akufo-Addo said that the installation is expected to be completed within 36 months; revealing that it would have an X-ray lab, procedure and admission rooms, 33-bed rooms and other facilities.

He recognized and appreciated the contributions of the chiefs and people of the Dormaa Traditional Area and the Presbyterian Church of Ghana towards the development of the nation.

The President, who is on a 2-day working visit to the Bono Region, was emphatic about the need of the people of Dormaa to have an adequate hospital and indicated that his government would ensure that the people of the municipality have easy access to quality services. provision of healthcare.

He singled out the Minister of Health and Member of Parliament (MP) from Dormaa Central, Mr. Kwaku Agyemang-Manu, for praise, saying that the MP had been a real brave in his government.

Referring to the 2020 elections, President Akufo-Addo said: “My government’s commitment to the full development of Ghana is absolute and that is why Ghanaians should give me 4 more years.”

Mr. Agyemang-Manu indicated that the government had not neglected the chiefs and people of Dormaa in the distribution of the national cake and asked them to vote to keep the Akufo-Addo government in political power.

He said Dormaa Township had benefited from the One District One Warehouse initiative, a community health and planning services (CHPS) complex and other health care infrastructure.
