Bono Region Beneficiaries of 817 projects; 3 new district hospitals – Akufo-Addo

President Nana Akufo-Addo has reported on the main activities that his administration has developed in the Bono region in the last three and a half years of his term as president.

According to President Akufo-Addo, as part of the Government’s Agenda 111, which seeks to build District Hospitals in Districts without hospitals, over the next 12 months, the Government will build District Hospitals in the following Districts without them in the Bono region.

“They are Sunyani West, Berekum West and Dormaa. The hospitals will have a capacity of 100 beds, fully equipped, with adequate accommodation for medical personnel, that is, doctors and staff, ”he said.

In addition, the President indicated that “there are 817 projects in execution in the Region, 418 completed and the remaining 399 in progress. Of the 418 projects completed, 133 correspond to the education sector, 43 to the health sector, 23 to the road sector and 128 to the water and sanitation sector ”.

President Akufo-Addo unveiled this on Thursday, September 10, 2020, when he inaugurated the newly established Regional House of Bonus Chiefs at a ceremony in Sunyani, on the first day of his 2-day working visit to the region of Bond.

Referring to ongoing projects, he noted that of the 399 ongoing projects that make up, there are, among others, 123 in the education sector, 32 in the health sector, 9 in the road sector, and 151 in the water and sanitation sector.

“With four more for Nana and the PNP, we will do even more for you,” he said, to the enthusiastic applause of members of the House.

Regarding the newly created Chambers of Chiefs and, in fact, all the Chambers of Chiefs throughout the country, the President assured that the Government will continue to support the institution of Chiefs to make it strong and resilient.

“Six new office and bungalow complexes would be provided to the six new Regional Chiefs Houses. Furthermore, as I said, we would strive to provide the institution with the necessary support to resolve chiefdom issues and carry out investigations in the many relevant areas to curb conflicts related to chiefdom, “he added.
