In the run-up to Ethiopia’s New Year’s Day on Friday, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed appeared in a movie disguised as a traffic policeman and handing out New Year’s cards.
Ethiopians continue to comment on the Abiy video shared on Facebook by state-affiliated Fana Broadcasting Corporate.
He can be seen laughing and joking with shocked motorists in a busy part of the capital, Addis Ababa.
There has been some criticism that Abiy should prioritize other more pressing political and economic issues, but many on Facebook are enjoying the fact that the prime minister can share a laugh with people.
