Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has said that the opposition Democratic National Congress will lose the December 7 elections due to the “gross incompetence” of John Mahama shown during his tenure as President of Ghana.
According to Bawumia, John Dramani Mahama mismanaged the economy and presided over rampant corruption that brought serious hardship to Ghanaians.
Addressing a durbar in the Upper West region, the vice president noted: “When they say that the NDC will lose the December elections, it is not us who [are] saying it. It is because of his mismanagement of the economy that people say so. They couldn’t afford teacher / nurse training allowances.
“They were raising utility rates by 45% even with the dumsor. They almost collapsed the National Insurance System and failed to create a single social intervention program to alleviate the plight of the people. SADA under our own brother John Mahama became a disaster. So Ghanaians will reject him for these failures when we go to the polls. “
Dr. Bawumia touted the achievement of Akufo-Addo as the Free Senior High School initiative, a village a dam, a district a factory, and the restoration of teacher and nurse training assignments.
Therefore, he appealed to Ghanaians to vote en masse for the PNP in December so that the Akufo-Addo-led administration can do more for the citizenry.
