Ghana and Chelsea legend Michael Essien has been named Nordsjaelland’s assistant coach of the Danish top flight, Ghanasoccernenet.com can reveal.

The 37-year-old has been appointed Player Coach for the ambitious Farum-based club and has several Ghanaian players in its ranks.

The former Chelsea superstar, who visited the club last month at the special invitation of club president Tom Veron, has agreed to join the club’s coaching staff.
