Former Ghana President HE John Agyekum Kufour has urged Asante Kotoko SC CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah to make the club financially viable.
Amponsah paid the former president a courtesy call on Tuesday to give him a chance to gather some experience and helpful advice from former club presidents and managers.
HE Kufour was the chairman of the Asante Kotoko board from 1988 to 1991.
HE Kufuor believes that the development of Porcupine Warriors depends on managing the club’s affairs with scientific and financial resources.
Amponsah’s visit is part of his engagement tour following his appointment as executive director of the Ghanaian giants.
Former president Kufour reiterated the need for the club’s commercialization.
Amponsah was introduced in August 2020 and has been tasked with turning Asante Kotoko into a corporate entity.
The CEO has already met with the former president and Bantamahene, Baffour Owusu Amankwatia VI, known in private life as Sylvester Asare Owusu.
He also met with the former CEO and current CEO of the National Petroleum Corporation of Ghana, Dr. Kofi Kodua Sarpong.
