The opposition Democratic National Congress (NDC) of Ghana and this launches the manifesto of the campaign dema Election 2020 that more people talk about.
The manifesto that is described as “The People’s Manifesto: Jobs, Prosperity and More” highlights the various promises that standard-bearer John Dramani Mahama wants to execute if Ghanaians give me a mandate.
Out of the many promises, here are the top eight promises that interest the most people in Ghana.
Free SHS for private schools
Free secondary education is one of the main points of interest for Ghanaians.
Under the current NPP government, all SHS students in public schools enjoy free education, but according to the NDC they will extend the provision to cover private schools.
The party’s running mate, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, explains that the next NDC government will improve the Free Upper Secondary School Program and that we will cover students than private high schools for underserved or disadvantaged areas.
Democrats also add that they are abolishing the two-way system where students go to school in two lots and expanding the infrastructure, so they say schools adapt.
Absorb 50% of the college fees
According to the NDC, dem go absorb 50 percent of school fees for all tertiary education students if Ghanaians vote for them for power.

She explains that this policy will take effect immediately when NDC gains power.
Schedule a million jobs in the first legislature
Unemployment is the main challenge facing young people in Ghana.
But NDC standard-bearer John Mahama said the government’s first term will create one million sustainable jobs if they come to power in 2021.
Dis according to him will address the challenge of unemployment among graduates across the country.
Dem san adds to say that instead of temporary jobs for the youth, the jobs they must create will be sustainable jobs to support the livelihoods of Ghana’s youth.
Retain NABCO Beneficiaries
NDC also adds that they retain all NABCO beneficiaries who have multi-location jobs and give them a better salary.
Currently, the NABCO employment scheme that we introduce NPP is temporary, but according to NDC during the lag time, program beneficiaries can enjoy full employment and better rewards.
Junk law prohibiting salvage vehicles
The NDC opposition leader for Ghana revealed that the government will lift the ban on the importation of salvaged vehicles if it comes to power in 2021.
He explained that this move will help improve the lives of Ghanaians operating within the local auto industry.
Four month maternity leave / 7 day paternity leave
The National Democratic Congress of the Opposition (NDC) also reveals that they are going to extend the regular three-month maternity leave that women enjoy to four months if they come to power.
In addition to dis, dem are going to give men 7 days of paternity leave as well, so they say spouses are too fit for support.
Tax incentives for landlords to reduce the rent advance
NDC also promises that Ghanaians say they will elevate the Rent Control office to the Rent Authority, so they say the institution will get more powers to operate.
The rent advance issue is a major challenge for most Ghanaians, but according to the NDC, they need to give homeowners some tax incentives that will lower the cost of rent when power comes.
John Mahama explains that homeowners, real estate investors, and tenants jointly review the Revenue Act to offer tax incentives to property owners and investors.
According to him, this reduces the cost of the rental advance for residential and commercial purposes.
Legalize and regulate Okada’s business
The opposition NDC makes it official for Ghanaians to say that if they come to power in 2021, they will legalize and regulate okada business for the country.
Democrats say this allows sanity to enter the transportation sector, especially for cyclists, and the safety of road users at the same time.
According to the NDC, the legalization and regulation of the business will generate more jobs for those interested and will help generate income by paying taxes to the government.
