The 19-year-old budding stopper of Ghanaian origin has sealed a one-year loan deal with the Bramall Lane Stadium team in the ongoing transfer window.

Sheffield United of the English Premier League have announced the signing of young Ghanaian Ethan Ampadu on loan for one season from Chelsea FC.

After being transferred to German elite team RB Liepzig last season, the former Exeter City guard has again been dispatched by the “Blues” to the EPL squad to gather the necessary push in the Premier League as a fledgling prospect.

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder was full of praise for the versatile cap on his talent and has thanked his colleague for making his acquisition possible for his team this summer.

“Ethan is an outstanding young player for Chelsea, and we have worked very hard to get him signed for the season,” Wilder told the club’s official website.

“We have Frank Lampard and the people at Chelsea to thank for helping us make this happen. We have a good relationship with them and they know we will take good care of it.

“This is an important season for Ethan and playing in the Premier League for us is a good move for everyone. He brings many qualities to the group and he is someone we have followed for two or three seasons.”

Ampadu’s current contract with Chelsea will expire in June 2023 and its market value has been set at € 9 million based on the transfer market.

He has been capped 13 times with the Wales senior team.
