Asante Kotoko of the Ghana Premier League reportedly terminated his kit sponsorship deal with Portuguese company Strike.
The deal has been terminated with one year remaining. Kotoko and Strike agreed to a three-year deal in 2018.
According to a local report, Executive Director Nana Yaw Amponsah met with National Director of Sportswear Manufacturers Yusif Alhassan Chibsah.
And they came to an agreement that the deal should be terminated. Kotoko has reportedly secured another bumper kit sponsorship deal.
Earlier this year, Chibsah confirmed that Kotoko has initiated processes to terminate the deal and they are ready for discussions with the team.
“Yes, it is true that Kotoko has written to us that they want to hold termination conversations with us, he was not available when they wrote to us, but I have notified them that I am back and ready to meet them,” he told Oyerepa FM.
“I have no problem if they decide to terminate the contract even though there are clauses in the contract”
“Because of the affection I have for the club and the contribution of the club to where I am today, I will not take it any further but I will let the sleeping dogs lie,” he said.
Kotoko earned ¢ 50,000 GH for signing the partnership and also accumulated more revenue from sales of replica T-shirts and paraphernalia that the company will reduce.
