The Abeka District Court has appealed to the family of the late Benjamin Okyere, who was killed by his landlord, Stephen Nana Kamkam, to be patient while investigations into the suspect’s whereabouts are carried out.

The father of the deceased has told the court that his family lives in fear as Kamkam, who was placed in pre-trial detention by the court, cannot be located in any of the prisons.

Checks carried out by the family of the deceased in Nsawam and Ankaful prisons showed that the defendant was not incarcerated.

Joseph Okyere, the father of the deceased, said his fears and those of the family were confirmed after the defendant’s mother declared that her son would never sleep in jail and would make sure he was released.

Due to the allegations raised by the deceased father, the court adjourned the matter until September 9 to allow the investigator of the case to come and answer the court’s questions.

According to the court, he cannot wait two weeks after the accusations.

YEN.com.gh previously reported that an owner named Victor Stephen Nana Kankam allegedly shot and killed a budding musician, Spark Benjamine, in Ofankor, an Accra suburb.

According to a report from Myjoyonline.com, the landlord murdered his tenant because he refused to vacate a room he rented from him.

The incident occurred on May 25, 2020.

Initially, the victim was rushed to the police station with multiple injuries before being transferred to the Police Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The landlord, who was arrested for killing his tenant for refusing to vacate his property, justified the cause of his action.

According to him, he killed his tenant in self-defense
