Thor: Love and Thunder, like all Marvel Phase 4 movies, has been significantly delayed due to the continuing coronavirus pandemic. However, that is not necessarily a bad thing. While we wait impatiently for the next installment in the Thor franchise, director Taika Waititi is busy perfecting the script. Not that you can tell us anything about its content …
“No, I can’t. I can’t,” Waititi says when asked if she can talk about Thor: Love and Thunder for our sister publication, Total Film magazine, in the next issue. “But the other thing is that there are some positive things that I can take away [from the Covid-19 crisis]. One of them is that many of these movies, and movies in general, are rushed, or you don’t have as much time as you would like to have in the script and things like that.
“We are still writing Love And Thunder, and I think it is good to continue writing, and then you know, we will have a very, very good script. And especially with writing, you should use as much time as possible for your story to be correct, because you never understand it later. Cinema is an industry where you always complain about not having enough time. I think right now we’ve given ourselves a lot of time to work on all kinds of things, so also we could use it. “
Wait Thor: Love and Thunder – what a star Chris Hemsworth recently called it “crazy” – to be a finely tuned comedy when it finally hits theaters in February 2022. Meanwhile, you can see Waititi alongside Ryan Reynolds in the upcoming movie Free Guy, in theaters on December 11. 2020.
