When Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston first announced their separation in January 2005, they both went out of their way to insist that there was no third party involved.
Despite growing rumors of a crush between Brad and his Mr. and Mrs. Smith co-star Angelina Jolie, Jen believed her husband when he insisted that the gossip was not true.
They even talked about Brad and Jen getting back together and doing something else, especially when they were seen walking hand in hand in a restaurant.
They both kept their wedding rings on and wowed viewers with their welcoming display at the chic L’Orangerie restaurant in Los Angeles just weeks after confirming their separation.

A source told The Mirror at the time: “Brad and Jennifer came in laughing and holding hands, they looked totally happy. It was a complete shock.
“It was if the last few weeks hadn’t happened. During dinner they couldn’t get out of hand.”
Reports claimed that they had resorted to marriage counseling, while sources said they had decided to “date” each other in hopes of reconciliation.
But all of that changed on April 29, 2005 when heartbreaking images of Brad and Angelina playing happy families on the beach in Kenya with their adopted son Maddox swept the world.
And as the audience, this is how Jen finally learned that her husband was in love with someone else.

“The world was shocked, and I was shocked,” she told Vanity Fair, admitting that she felt angry, hurt, and embarrassed.
Having chosen to believe her husband when he insisted that nothing was wrong, the Friends star collapsed in pain and withdrew from the limelight, unable to suffer the agony of reading something about her ex.
On his reaction to the photos, he explained: “I cannot say that it was one of the best moments of my year. Who would take care of it and would say:” It is not so sweet! It seems fun!’? But sh * t happens. You joke and say, “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”
“I have to think that there is some reason why I have called this in my life,” she says. “I have to believe that, otherwise it’s cruel.”

“I’m alone? Yes. I’m upset? Yes. I’m confused? Yes. Do I have my days when I had a little pity party for myself? Absolutely.”
Jen’s best friend Courteney Cox told the publication that Brad had been honest about his “connection” to Angelina, and insisted that he believed he had initially tried to fight the attraction.
But others claimed that he had left his marriage the moment he met the actress, whom he married and had six children.
In fact, Jen revealed that when Friends ended after 10 years as Brad shot Mr. and Mrs. Smith, he was “not there” emotionally for her and did not even attend the final filming.
He had even bumped into Angelina in the Friends movie lot, and stopped in his car to tell her how excited Brad was to be working with her.
Despite all the heartbreak, Brad and Jen became good friends and are said to have grown even closer after their 2016 divorce from Angelina.
They made it to the PDA at the SAG Awards earlier this year, and one of the star’s confidants told The Mirror that they had enjoyed at least five secret dates, including a date at Jen’s house at Christmas.
“I don’t think she really stopped loving him, even though he broke her heart when he left her for Angelina Jolie,” the source said.
“It has taken a long time, but she has forgiven him for everything: forgiveness has been a big part of them moving on.”
And a longtime associate of Brad’s movie producer Plan B confirmed: “The only thing he can talk about is Jen. They’ve rekindled their romance and I haven’t seen them so happy in years.”
