Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew believes the club had a good 2019-20 season, but believes they would have performed better if not for the Covid-19 pandemic.
Palace was in great shape, winning four straight games in February. They were in contention to qualify for Europe before the season was suspended due to the outbreak of the deadly virus.
Palace was unable to replicate his form after the league resumption and finished 14th on the table with 43 points.
“I think it is quite simple. I think we had a good season until March, then COVID for three months and then we started the league again and I think we won our first game after COVID and then I think we didn’t win until the end of the season, ”Jordan explained.
“I think we won a game of eight. I think in general it has been a good season. We didn’t do well in the end, but like I said, we are a team and our goal was to stay in the Premier League and we did it.
The 28-year-old was the club’s best player, scoring nine goals. His goals gave the club 14 points.
He won Player of the Season, Players Player of the Season, and Goal of the Season at the Crystal Palace end-of-season awards gala.
