Two teenagers have been arrested by the police in Kasoa, in the Central Region, for their alleged participation in a murder that is said to be related to monetary rituals.

The teens, aged 18 and 19 respectively, are said to have lured their victim, a 10-year-old boy identified only as Ismael, into an unfinished building and reportedly killed him.

It is said that he was struck with an object that resulted in his instant death.

The incident occurred in the Kasoa suburb of Lamptey Mills on Saturday, April 3, 2021, between 5 and 6 p.m. according to sources.

The suspects are said to have lured him into the unfinished building while playing outside his home and attacked him.

He was said to be playing a video game when his playmates called him into the unfinished building, who are known residents of the area and normally visit his home.

Police investigations are ongoing and police have yet to comment on the incident.

But some residents in the area have said that a fetish priest the suspects had contacted had told them to bring human parts for rituals.

Ismael lived with the mother and sister in Kasoa, while the father lived elsewhere.

The father, according to Ismael’s mother, had traveled and had not been able to visit them for some time.

The mother said that Ismael normally attends Islam classes on Saturdays, but decided not to attend that day because he was waiting for his father who was visiting.

The mother said Ishmael had been talking to the father on the phone all week and had asked him to visit him.

So on Saturday he was at home all day waiting for the father and was playing outside while the mother napped inside.

He said it was Ismael’s sister who rushed to inform him that he had been killed.

Neighbors detained the teenagers and reported the case to the Kasoa police.

The police went to the scene and took the body away.

Some witnesses tried to beat the teenagers, but the police intervened and detained them at the police station.
