Information Minister and Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has sponsored some 400 voters in a fully paid apprenticeship program.
They must take training in hairdressing, dressmaking, welding, carpentry and other trades.
The total cost and logistics necessary for the training have been borne by the MP.
In a post on Twitter, he mentioned that his action was an “opportunity to replicate the love of Christ” as the world celebrates Good Friday.
“God help us to be successful,” he said.
He also took the opportunity to inspect work at the Akyemansa Sports Complex, which he says is now 70% complete.
“We hope to receive the Black Stars here one day,” he said.
He added that the Akokoaso-Kumanin highway in the Ofoase Ayirebi constituency has also started to receive attention.
The MP said that when completed, the road will shorten the trip to Accra as it passes through the Kumanin forest.
He also mentioned that, “Chia has also received a mobile phone mast to improve connectivity and economic activity.”
He ended his election tour at a youth town hall meeting in Brenasi, where he involved young people about the events of 8th Parliament.
He was accompanied by Obrimpong Dubi Nti (Ofoasehene), DCE Paul Asamoah and President Obeng.
