Jean-Clair Todibo has been talking about his time at Barcelona and has once again regretted the lack of opportunities he was given at the Camp Nou.
The French defender is on loan at Nice. He returned to Ligue 1 sdde in January after making no impression at Benfica in the first half of the season.
Todibo has already made seven appearances in the French top flight and made it clear how much he enjoys playing.
“It sucks to go to Barcelona and not play. I’d rather wear the CS Sedan Ardennes shirt and play than go to Barcelona and not play. You already suffer less criticism in Sedan.
“The presentation in Barcelona is crazy, but I only played five games, it is false in real life. I won a League (in 2019), but I did not help the team, I played when we had won the title!
“Abidal saw me as the replacement for Piqué. I played two games, then Valverde told me that he was the fourth defender but that he was going to have to prove it in the preseason. Umtiti was injured. I did the right thing, but I don’t have the opportunity.
“I’m not asking to play the Classic, but to make me play games, I think I have the level to play against Leganés, with all the respect I have for them. I waited 2 months to play against Inter Milan and I understood that I had to go ”.

Todibo’s comments suggest that he is not particularly interested in returning to Barcelona unless he plays regularly. You could end up staying in Nice if you impress during your loan period. The transfer included a purchase option set at 8.5 million euros, plus 7 million euros in variables.
