The Ghana Police Service is set up to improve security during the Easter holidays by reminding the public of the ban on public gatherings.

Christendom will celebrate the Easter festivities from Friday, April 2 to Monday, April 5 throughout the world, which is mainly characterized by religious activities and entertainment events.

A statement signed by Police Superintendent Sheilla Kessie Abayie-Buckman said the move is to ensure that the Covid-19 protocol and the restrictions imposed by President Akufo-Addo are not violated in the middle of the holiday.

Therefore, he calls on the general public to comply with the Covid-19 restrictions imposed by the president, as they will be strictly enforced by the police.

The police reminded churches, mosques and religious bodies to hold services for no more than two hours, implementing a mandatory one-meter rule of social distancing between parishioners and ensuring that all parishioners wear a mask at all times.

They are also reminded to provide hand washing facilities and alcohol-based sanitizers for all people.

Police said they should “keep a record of the names and contact details of all parishioners again; and ensure that the place of worship has fresh air ventilation, rather than relying on the use of air conditioners. “

The Police Administration encourages the public to remain vigilant and report all criminal activities to the nearest Police Station.

In cases of emergency crime situations, the public is encouraged to contact them at 0550323323 or 0275000156 and the toll-free numbers 18555, 191 or 112.
