The Ghana Education Service (GES) has rescinded its directive to the Achimota school principal to admit two freshmen with dreadlocks who reported to the school to begin their upper secondary education (SHS).

Achimota School authorities denied admission to the two students who were assigned there under the Computer School Placement System (CSSPS) because school rules did not allow the admission of students with dreadlocks.

Social media was filled with arguments for and against the school authorities’ decision on Friday when the father of one of the students took to Facebook to protest the school’s decision.
