The Leadership of Constituency Watch Dog International (CWDI) has asked President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to consider Mr. Charles Boateng as the Executive Director of Tema Metropolitan.
The leadership of the CWDI and some polling station executives of the New Patriotic Party in Tema have proposed that Mr. Boateng, who is the current president of the PNP’s central Tema constituency, should be considered for the position.
The group, in a statement signed by Mr. Kwadwo Safo, CWDI Executive Secretary, and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Tema on Friday, said: “It is a wake-up call to the Party and the new government to reorganize the party base to revive our electoral politics. fortunes for the 2024 elections ”.
The group affirmed that the Metropolitan Assembly of Tema needs an executive president who does not belittle and deprives the popular base of the party of opportunities.
“We wish to humbly appeal to the president to review the executive director’s nomination, especially to the Metropolitan Tema Assembly. In no way are we trying to incite the president or are we trying to twist the president’s hand in his election, ”the group said.
The group said Boateng has strategic prowess to help the PNP regain the East Issue parliamentary seat in the 2024 elections.
According to the group, the CEO position is a delicate one, in particular, dealing with the vulnerable in society, such as the Party rank and file and floating voters.
