The Receiver of the collapsed microfinance and savings and loan companies, Eric Nana Nipah, reminds the public of the ongoing bidding process for the acquisition of real estate from the defunct institutions.
Interested individuals or companies have until March 26, 2021 to submit bids for some 24 land and buildings across the country that belonged to the collapsed companies.
The process of receiving offers began on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.
According to a notice from the Receiver, interested bidders are expected to submit their bids in a formal letter.
He says that an inspection appointment can also be arranged for interested persons.

The auctioning of properties from collapsed financial institutions is part of the Receiver’s mandate to raise money to pay depositors.
The Receiver was called to action after May 31, 2019, when the 347 microfinance companies, 23 savings and loan houses and finance houses the Bank of Ghana revoked their licenses as part of cleaning up the financial sector.
The Bank of Ghana, pursuant to Section 123 (2) of the Banks and Specialized Institutions Receiving Deposits Act 2016 (Act 930), appointed Eric Nana Nipah, Director of PricewaterhouseCoopers Ghana Limited (PwC), as Receiver for the purposes of liquidation for the affairs of these institutions.
